Palma International Boat Show in a promotional venture in Florida

Palma International Boat Show will once again be participating in Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida, one of the most important platforms in the world for the boating sector. After the initial experience at the previous edition, this year the organisers decided to repeat their participation, sharing their exhibition space again with BYD (Balearic Yacht Destination), an association of leading companies involved in the repair and refit of boats, complementary nautical services and marinas located on the Islands that focus on superyachts. Amongst the main objectives of this activity is the promotion of the Balearics boating industry in markets as important as that of the USA, plus the acquisition of new exhibitors for the next edition of Palma International Boat Show.

Attending the last edition of the Fort Lauderdale nautical show permitted business collaboration agreements to be signed with boatyards in Florida to cover boating services and thereby boost the opening of the Islands’ boating industry on foreign markets. It should be remembered that both Palma International Boat Show as well as the Balearic boating sector is positioning itself very positively within Europe and the US, one of the main superyacht boat builders.

During the Florida trade show, Manel Porras, Director General of Industrial Policy, Núria Hinojosa, Managing Director of the Institut d’Innovació Empresarial (IDI) and Chema Sans, Director of Palma International Boat Show, along with business leaders from the sector, will visit dockyards, shipyards and dry docks in the zone to directly promote the Islands’ nautical industry. A meeting with representatives of the Economic and Trade Office in Miami (part of the US Spanish Embassy) is also planned.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has more than 800 participating companies and 1,200 boats on show, and each year more than 100,000 people visit Florida’s boating fair.
